Looking for good shoulder bag to carry miscellaneous items in Europe.

Appreciate any suggestions!

Miscellaneous items? Would they be bigger or smaller than a breadbox? For a man or a woman?
DH uses a Timbuk2 Classic messenger bag, and wears it crossbody for security, not just over the shoulder. On travel days I wear a smaller leather messenger style bag, which I also wear crossbody. Other times, if going light, I have a small baggalini that's not much bigger than a wallet on a strap (holds ID, daily cash, CC, and sunglasses), which I wear- you guessed it- crossbody, not over the shoulder.

Have a look at ebags. Their site has a good variety of brands and styles to choose from, as well as reviews.

assuming good means quality, not price, take a look at Tom Bihn and Redoxx products.

And I get mine at the thrift shop (possibly donated by people who bought a bag for "travel" and then donated it after they returned)

I swear by Baggalini for travel and every day at home. The Everywhere bags is my favorite. I even wash mine, an essential feature given planes and trains and dirty floors.

I'll second the rec for Tom Bihn bags - beautiful and well-crafted and made in the US. I use the medium cafe bag as my go-to travel purse - it can be used as a crossbody bag, is versatile and holds a LOT of stuff, but the bag itself is very light and flexible.

Another vote for Tom Bihn products. They're extremely good quality, although a bit on the pricey side. They have a wide range of bags, so you should be able to find something that fits your preference.

I have one made by Citybags, I bought on Amazon. I picked it for weight more than features. It weighs very little which is a big plus for me. I've had it on several trips now and it still looks and works like new.

I've used Bagallini and like their products. Sturdy and generally lightweight. Recently I've discovered Tumi. It is NOT inexpensive at all, but definitely HIGH quality. I like their fabric products because they are so lightweight, but their leather stuff is excellent, too.

I like Pacsafe. My sister likes Baggalini. I use a Lug cross body at home but I like the Pacsafe for Paris for the safety. Many sizes of these 3bramds are available. I-use cross body all the time and sometimes have a small thin shopping bag with extras or a tiny backpack, very thin material for my extra layer or to,put my shedding layers during the day.

I'll second Continental's LeSportsac suggestion. I love mine! This is year #6 for using an Everyday Bag, altho not the same one, lol!!

I've been taking a Derek Alexander bag for the past few years and I love it. Very roomy with lots of compartments.
