Good B&B's in Cinque Terre/Venice

Can anyone recommend great/affordable B&B's for my trip to Cinque Terre/Venice? Is B&B the way to go?

Sophie,

One property in the Cinque Terre that comes to mind is La Torretta in Manarola. Check the website - www.torrettas.com to see whether this might work for you.

I stayed at Albergo Doni in Venice, and although it's not luxurious I would certainly recommend them. The standard "Italian style" continental breakfast was provided.

Check Rick's books, as there are lots of listings for all of the C.T. villages as well as Venice. Don't rule out budget hotels, as many of these provide breakfast as well.

Happy travels!

I was in Venice in September '07 for 6 days. We stayed at the Al Pozzo B&B. It 110 Euro (w/shared bathroom) a night. It was a great place to stay! It is located in the Campo San Polo. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a inexpensive, nice place to stay. The host is Michele Stalla. He was very nice and gave us some great tips.

If you stay there, ask for one of the bigger rooms. There were three rooms available for the shared bathroom...we got the smaller one. The other two were a little roomier. We had no problems with sharing a bathroom i.e. never had to wait more than 5 minutes. One neat surprise was that Campo San Polo becomes very active with kids playing and families socializing during the evenings and on weekends. Some might be annoyed, but it didn't bother us.

Thanks,
Mike
