Going to Chamonix in March

I am planning to go from Paris to chamonix on March 19. With the uncertainty of weather would this still be a possibility? This is my first trip in 30 years and don't know when I would be able to do this again. I hear it is beautiful and I don't want to miss it. Thank you for any help.
