Global travel medical insurance- recommended company?

We need to provide proof of global medical insurance in order to apply for our Belarus visas. Does anyone have a company they would recommend for this? Also, anyone know how much such insurane costs? We are planning a 10 day trip to Belarus and need a minimum of 10,000 euro medical coveragr. Thanks!

Have you tried searching policies Squaremouth or Insuremytrip websites? I fiddled with your length of time in April and using "average people" and if just wanting medical insurance, very affordable rates appeared. READ THE FINE PRINT on any insurance policy before purchasing it.

I always buy medical insurance when we go out of the country. I use Travelguard. Cost depends on your age.

I apologize if you've already checked, but the first thing to check is if your normal medical insurance policy covers you when traveling, some do, some don't, some only have minimum coverage so you may need some additional. I used TravelGuard when I was traveling and it was very affordable, I just added the cost of it into my travel budget.

We have always used Travel Guard and have had only one claim. The manner in which they handled it was great!! Had to document the claim with paper work but nothing that was not reasonable. We always sign up within 15 days of our first trip deposit so as to be covered for preexisting conditions. You can go to their web site and check out the different polices. You might want to consider medical evacuation insurance as well. Can give you details about variations if you are interested

We have used Travel Guard after researching in insuremytrip.com and getting a flyer from RS office. Have used it for 5 years with no claims but have read NO negative posts on claim problems with them. Rates are age dependent and then we add an umbrella option which basically doubles their coverages, and includes medical evacuation. If you pay for the TG policy within 14 or 15 days of making your first payment towards your trip or tour, they cover all pre-existing conditions.

I read somewhere that all the online sites that offer insurance from different providers all have to offer the same prices as the actual insurer. Something about the travel plan prices having to be set by state and they can't change it. So best would be to go to insuremytrip, squaremouth or one of the others. I actually went to one called aardvarkinsure.com that sells AIG Travel Guard plans, as they donate 10% of all their profits to the special operations warrior foundation. That's a charity i support and if you don't know their work already, go and have a look. so seeing as i was buying a travel guard plan anyway, just seemed like a good idea. Hoorah!
