FYI Global Entry Renewal Time

So glad to hear that renewal is quick. I did the initial sign-up for Global Entry on September 20 and I am still "Pending Approval". Really didn't think it was going to take this long. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll be approved by my trip next September!

Barbara, my sister is in exactly the same situation, but it was her renewal being submitted about the same time yours was. I wonder if "something" happened to some of those submissions on their end? Can't imagine what but it does seem odd......TC, I think you were lucky.

I just renewed mine. I submitted my online renewal application on Nov 25 and received an email on Nov 30 that a change had occurred. I signed into my account and found I had been approved. As I live 10 minutes from the terminal where the Border Patrol office is, I stopped to see if an updated photo was needed. They said no, my GE was tied to my passport and that was all that was really needed. I received my GE card a week after I was approved.

Both my husband's and my renewal took about two weeks from initiation to receipt of the new card.

Thanks to all for your experiences. Mine's up in 2021 but will plan ahead. Just mailed my passport off for renewal this last week.

Pam, When we renewed our passports they were issued with new numbers. We had to go into our Global Entry Profiles and manually update that information. One would think it would be done automatically since it is all one government. On second thought, .....

Lol! Yes, thanks, good reminder. I actually remembered it because when I got GE I had a long chat with the interviewing agent as they were having computer difficulties that day and we were having to wait for it to boot up. He noted when my passport was set to expire and was good about telling me that I needed to go back in to the GE account to add the new number. I agree...it seems like they would in some way be tied.

Weird, my husband and I applied at the same time. Early November. He had his interview in a week. I’m still waiting!
