Gail, I'm sorry you were offended; that was definitely not my intention! 8^D = Big Smile = Joking! Just hush may be an idiom 'too Southern'; I realize all Americans don't necessarily speak the same language. And I would NEVER SEROUSLY tell someone to shut up on this forum. Nigel is right - I was just referring to your young whippersnapper status - or at least that of your eyes ;-) Please forgive me.
Nigel, I can always use a plate of brisket and a cold one ;-)
I'm with Karen - that hawk-like bobbing of the head, up and down, that one has to do with progressive lenses or to look over your single-vision lenses...ugh. BIG ugh. Gives me a neck ache. So mine reside in my purse - alongside the other two pair I must carry around with me at all times. I see So Well with them in their case :-/ At least I can still see colors correctly...I think...Perhaps I'm Karen's young whippersnapper LOL.
Gretchen, especially while traveling when it is much more easy to become distracted, you may need to try a few of these 'gizmos' out to see which one is more intuitive for you so that you don't leave your glasses behind somewhere :-( I prefer different types of holders for different types of activities. One that works well with t-shirts won't work as well with sweaters or jackets, or with purse shoulder straps/crossbody bag straps, or if I'm trying to use only one hand (don't tell!), etc. They don't have to be expensive, either, although you can pay all sorts of prices.
Just thought of something - when wearing the ReadeRest-style holders and bending over, I've had my glasses fall out of the holder a few times. The magnetic style with the 'free-swinging' loop didn't have that problem. The earpiece seemed to stay closed better with that style. With the ReadeRest style if I lean over, the lenses swing out, but the earpiece stays flat against my chest...then they just slide out of the little 'hook'. Clear as mud, I'm sure ;-) but hopefully you can picture what I'm saying!
(and FWIW, my iPad 'link pasting' has improved...so far...)
