German self tests

I recommend each of you in Germany buy the Covid self tests at any German pharmacy (not drugstore). They are self tests only, not monitored, but if you want to test during your trip or after returning home, the instructions are in German and English. Easy, easy to do. We paid €9 for two. Readily available and worth the peace of mind to know you can just test anytime. No WiFi needed since there is no monitoring. No, they wouldn't work for your reentry to the U.S. We bought them to self test after returning to be sure we were safe around our grandkids but it was so good to have them during the trip in case any sickness arose.

Just wondering... what's wrong with the drugstore (or supermarket) ones?

They serve the same purpose and cost around €1 each at the moment.

Thanks Anna, I didn't see the ones in the drugstore. Good for people to know.

I think I got you wrong. I had understood your posting like you were explicitly advising against the drugstore tests. :-)
