German pubs ie. hofbrauhaus etc......

Traveling with soon to be 14 year old (october 2) are we allowed in pubs such as these and if so, are there juices/drinks for the underaged? Thankyou, Mark

There is no age limit for kids to enter a pub in Germany. Your son can accompany you and find a good selection of non-alcoholic juices or soda drinks. Age limits apply to youth who want to drink alcohol in a public place. And yes it is allowed! According to section 9 par. 1 no. 2 of the Protection of Young Persons Act (JuSchG) kids age 16 and older are allowed to drink beer, wine or sparkling wine in a pub. If the kid is accompanied by a parent/guardian that age is lowered to 14 years. Hard alcohol is not allowed for anyone under 18.
