GAS Tour/Luxembourg City

Hi Everyone,

I just signed up for the GAS tour in August. I am flying into Frankfurt, arriving the day before. I will then take the train to Trier from the airport and stay overnight there. I am considering getting up on Saturday morning and taking the train to Luxembourg City for the morning, and then returning after lunch to meet my tour.

I am wondering if that is enough time to see some sights in Lux. City, or if I should spend the morning in Trier? I am interested in photography opportunities and people watching, so if I didn't visit any museums/ the castle that morning, that would be fine.

I wanted to get to Luxembourg City before my Belgim/Holland tour last year, but it didn't work out. I did consider going straight to Luxembourg from the Frankfurt Airport, but I know I'll go stir crazy on a long train ride after a transatlantic flight. Plus, I won't have to worry about luggage, etc and I can just being my camera and wallet. :).

I would go for sure. A little quality time is still worth the visit. My trip got cut short due to a train strike from Brussels so I plan on returning. I was going to visit the American Cemetary and also home base in Bastion to follow the Battle of the Bulge. Please do a trip report.

I would actually take the train after your flight and spend a night there but you make a good point about being tired.
