Garmin Nuvi Europe Travel Guide software - Anyone with experience?

Reading the reviews at amaz leads me to search for other opinions. (We already have the Garmin Nuvi, I'm thinking about the add on Travel Guide.)

What we're looking for is something to assist us when we're walking around, in essence asking the Garmin, "what's this".

We prefer not to have a guide book out all the time, or even follow a map when in certain cities.

Your thoughts would be appreciated, positive or otherwise.

Have you considered downloading podcasts that will walk you through the cities? Rick has a few from Paris (and I think a city in Italy? We only went to Paris) and listening to an ipod is even less conspicuous than a talking GPS in the street.
