It's a long story, but my son had some passport problems: he paid to have it expedited, the passport office misplaced his check, yada yada yada......Anyway, he called his congresswoman's office, and they have a staffer just to handle passport problems. He received it back from the Philadelphia passport office on Tuesday (this week), brought it to his representative's office on Wednesday, and received it back yesterday (Friday). That's a 48 hour turn-around time. Unbelievable! :)

My brother insured that his minor daughter had her passport up to date. He forgot about his own and didn't realize it until a couple of days before our trip. He had to pay quite a few hundred dollars (500 as I remember) to have some company get it renewed. He fedexed it on Thursday, they took it in, got it done and fedexed it back so he got it on that Saturday. He left on Sunday.
