Fun things to do in June --- Holland, Germany, Austria

I will be driving through Holland, Germany, and Austria with my 18 year old son in June and want to find some fun and different things to do besides the norm or castles, museums etc. I would like to find some things like Off-roading/ATV tours, festivals etc., any and all suggestions welcomed.. Thanks!

Paragliding! We (me & DH, 12 yo and 15 yo) were in Salzburg last June and went with FlyTandem. It was one of the funnest things I’ve ever done! We all LOVED it! You could choose to fly over Salzburg (which we did) or in the mountains near Werfen (weekends only).

Look for sommerrodelbahns too. You take a chair lift up the mountain then ride down in little carts. We all loved those too.

My kids really enjoyed listening to the street musicians that seemed to be all over. Don’t forget to stop and listen if you happen to find some.

There probably will be a ton of street markets and festivals. We happened upon an Albanian festival in Ljubljana that was really fun and had great food!

I've done the two day hike from Garmisch, Germany to the top of the Zugspitze (highest mountain in Germany). It's a great hike.

There are beer fest almost every weekend somewhere in Bavaria from Spring to Fall. The Oktoberfest is the last one of the season. They are great fun.

We did white water rafting in Austria that was great fun.

The Romantic Road, from Wurzburg, Germany to Garmisch is a great with small cities like Rothenberg on the Tauber, Donauwurth, Dinkelsbuhel, Augsburg, Oberamergau, Fussen and more. Take 2-3 days and do it.

Holland = biking. Rent bikes and take yourselves on a tour. The paved bike paths are so extensive and so well maintained and used, that you can really get from anywhere to anywhere, being on bikes you can really see the country and stumble on things you might not have planned. My first trip, my 13yo and I followed the Amstel out of Amsterdam simply by sticking close to the river (we had no map) - this, after riding around Amsterdam and deciding to head out along the river on a lark. We were quickly riding past cows and a windmill and got caught in a downpour, which was a great adventure (there we were getting soaked under a tree, while the Dutch were blithely riding by in their business attire). Another visit, I took my husband and all three kids out along the Amstel much farther where we found a lake, and my son stripped down and went for a swim.
There are many trails all over the country, so you could pick a route depending on where you will be. The Kroller-Muller museum (second best van gogh collection after the one in AMS) is in a huge park where you can rent bikes and ride around.
Yes there are designated sites where people rent bikes (like droller-mueller or Zaans schans), but you can also ride between places/towns, like the Dutch to really see a bit of the country
