From Paris to Edinburgh: Customs

Hello, I'll be traveling from Paris to Edinburgh and was wondering if I will need to clear customs. My method of transport will be a flight. I know the UK is part of the EU, as is France, but it is still unclear to me as I read somewhere you do need to go through UK passport control. Thanks for your insight!

You will go through immigration in Edinburgh. You will then pass through customs via the EU Blue Channel.

At Edinburgh you will first go through passport control (i.e. UK immigration, who will check your passport and decide whether to let you in - they probably will!), then you will go to baggage reclaim, finally you will go to customs. Since you have come from Paris, you go through the "blue channel" at customs.

Thank you Marco! So, it will likely be a bit of a wait then? I was hoping to fly in on a Tuesday morning for a meeting but it seems like I will need more time and should fly in on Monday evening instead.

Thank you Keith! I guess I will need to allow longer than 30 minutes. I appreciate your response, this will help me tremendously.
