Several months ago, I posted looking for a travel partner for a Rick Steves tour. I only got three responses and unfortunately none of those worked out for a travel companion. However a couple months later, one of those who answered my post sent me another e-mail asking questions about my trip. Since then, we have deleloped a very nice e-mail friendship that we both have enjoyed. We may never meet in person but just wondered if any of you have developed friendships with others on this site. Do any of you correspond outside of the helpline. My e-mail pal just got back from 3 weeks in South America which she has shared much info about. Hope many of you have developed friendships thru this site as well.

I have a nice email relationship with Kent. We trade occassional messages back and forth. I've also corresponded with Ron in Rome and a couple of other frequent posters. It's a very nice back channel.

Yes, I have developed a relationship with a woman who lives about 20 minutes away from me. She has as much of a passion for England as I do. We have met a couple of times with her and her husband. It's been a nice connection.

I share private emails with quite a few people on this site. Though no one lives close to me, I do enjoy meeting people when they travel through Frankfurt. Have a cup of coffee, walk around and show them a bit of my city. Sort of an unofficial Rick Steve's "greeter". It is fun to put a face on people with whom you have shared emails and posts with.

I met "Michelle from the OC" through this website. Now we are Facebook friends too. As it turns out we grew up in the same area, are 1 year apart in age, and we both have interests in European travel, Disneyland/World, and hockey !
