Google says the walk is only .7 miles to my hotel (Moxy), but other sites recommend against walking due to the closeness to heavy, fast merging car traffic around the terminal. Is the walk OK? What are the best bus or shuttle options? Thanks.
This is not something I would walk. There are no sidewalks.
You can take a shuttle bus or Skytrain to terminal 1 and then S-8 or S-9, one stop to Gateway Gardens.
Bus 61 goes there, but I am not familiar with where it stops.
What does the hotel website say? They usually list the best way to access the hotel.
hotel website is particularly useless, Ms. Jo. First they say it is convenient walking distance, follow the signs to Gateway Gardens, then they say it is nearly 6km on a map showing it a stone's throw, then they say no shuttle, and nothing further except 25€ parking.
Ms. Jo and Nigel, Thanks for the quick replies! Nigel is correct about the hotel website -- no help. I did find a video of someone who made the walk at night. As Ms. Jo points out, there is something of a "no-man's-land" amidst car traffic and poor signage for pedestrians just outside T2. After the first 100-200 meters outside T2, it's not bad and only about a 10-15 minute walk, but the transit options look fine. Here's the link. Relevant section of video starts around 8:00. Thanks again.
