France to Spain

I have a client that will be traveling to Gap, France September 1st. Will she need a rail-pass from the airport to Gap? Also, she wants to travel to Madrid or Barcelona, Spain from Gap, France September 6th. Or would it be easier to Fly to Madrid or Barcelona?

It is impossible to say without knowing which airport.

Is your client flying into Marseille and then taking a train to Gap--or into another airport?

If she's willing to get up really early on 6 September, she can get to the Marseille airport in time to catch the 11:25 Ryanair flight to Madrid (very cheap if booked ASAP). Or she could take the 13:05 Spanair flight to Barcelona (also cheap if booked ASAP).

If you want to advise clients about train travel in Europe, you need to get well acquainted with the German Rail site which has detailed timetables for virtually all of Europe.

After you get summary timetables for Aeroport Paris-Charles de Gaulle TGV to Gap(F), click on the arrow to the left of the departure time(s) of your choice to see the connecting points.

Leave CDG at 11:43, connect in Marseille, and arrive in Gap at 19:56. Or leave CDG at 14:38, connect in Valence, and arrive at Gap at 20:35. There is a fairly long layover in Marseille on the first route. The second route is much faster.

Yes, your client can buy her tickets at the CDG TGV station which is located at Terminal 2.

Tim and Steve
Thank you for all your valuable info. My client dropped me like a hot potato. She was upset that I could not get her train tickets before 60 days. And she was not happy about purchasing the tickets at terminal 2. I thought that it was a great idea, because she would save money on commission fees. I was not making any money on the deal. But, I did do all the research for the hotel in Spain and and I gave her the train schedules as she wanted. I suggested a great hotel in Barcelona. Basically she wanted me to do a lot of emailing and research. I want to thank both of you again for your help.
