I just tried to post a reply to a question on the Germany forum, but an "oops, you cannot post on this forum" popped up. I then came to this forum and posted something without a problem. Went back to the Germany forum and the same thing happened. Can we be banned from specific forums? If so, why and wouldn't the webmaster tell us?
That has happened a few times to me (not Germany!). It seems to be intermittent issues which just resolve themselves.
I usually see the oops when a question has been removed, either by the webmaster or the person that asked the question.
Had it happen to me twice about a week ago. Asked the webmaster and they had changed the software so that might be contributing to it.
It happens to me occassionally. I just retry and it usually works.
I've also been having problems with the internet in the last hour. I turned off my VPN and everything is working fine.
I've had the "opps you can't post" page occasionally. It usually happens when I take an inordinate amout of time to actually write and finish a post then hit the "add reply" button. Thankfully I've always "Ctrl+C" my post in case it's lost and then hit post again successfully. I chalk the error message up to that inordinate time. Never when I write a very quick post or write in G-Docs, then cut & paste into the forum.
This happened to me twice today on the forum “Rick Steves Tours.” I contacted the webmaster and he said he needed my exact wording to see if I used a “banned term.” Can’t imagine what that might be! Anyway, there was no way for me to remember EXACTLY what I had written. So, I’m trying again with this post.
I had that issue this morning trying to reply with something that included links to RS website. When I just used words it posted. Hopefully it's just a glitch!
I had that happen for a "banned word." It was four letters in a foreign place name that happen to be the same as an English curse word. I put in a hyphen and the post went through.
