I just saw Loving Vincent yesterday. It's a beautiful movie and has left me very emotional. Look for it. It will likely be in the small art (ha!) cinemas for short runs.
Yes, I second that recommendation. I saw it this weekend and was astonished by how good it is. Try to see it on the big screen to really appreciate the artistry that went into it.
Hey thanks that's great, Karen, it's playing now at our local non-Hollywood, independent film supporting, actually great movies not garbage theater!
Where did you see it? We don’t have it in Bton.
Bets, we don't have it here in Corvallis yet but it's coming to our independent theater next week. It just depends on when it gets to your market.
Bets, it's moving around. We only have it at our Cinema Center through Thursday here. I'll try to go again if I can fit it in. It's also playing in Indy this week at the Landmark.
Aren’t we lucky, it’s currently showing in 4 cinemas across Brisbane. I hope to catch it tomorrow whilst I am out and will have a few hours to spare.
Since it seems to be on very short runs, I posted this here instead of Books and Movies. Try to see it on the big screen.
And here a discovery on a Van Gogh painting showing the risks of paintings outdoors.
Thanks tonfromleiden, that's incredible.
Yep. We saw it about 2 weeks ago. Wonderful film. And visually, utterly spectacular - from the first opening credits. Very trippy. Like taking a 90 minute trip to late 19th century rural France. HIGHly recommended.
We went to see this Saturday, it was spectacular, just extremely creative. It reminded me of being in the Carrieres de Lumieres, like living inside a Van Gogh.
"Very trippy" sums it up well.
Thanks for the reminder. We are going to New Orleans and looked it up...we’ll see it there this week.
Saw it last night, absolutely fantastic!!! So unique. Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention, I might have missed it without your post.
Gosh, glad this came back up to the top...it's actually at my local arty type theater next week!
But not in Lewiston--grrrr! At least it's not listed as one of the movies coming soon. Pam, do you mean it's in Moscow?
Looks like Nov 30-Dec 4 in Moscow!
We have a huge Van Gogh exhibit here in Vicenza going on until April, they have over 120 of his paintings and drawings on display. Tix are 14 euro.
I saw it here in Atlanta a few weeks ago. Very original, it made me feel I was in some of his paintings. A sad life but awesome artistic legacy for the rest of us!
Sorry Darcy, didn’t see your question. Yes, it’s in Moscow at either the Nuart or Kenworthy, right in the same block as One World. Has matinee performances Sat and Sun for those who have a 9PM bedtime!!
