For Sound of Music Lovers

This will bring a smile to your face.

This video was made in the Antwerp , Belgium Central (Train) Station on March 23, 2009, with no warning to the
passengers passing through the station.

At 8:00 am a recording of Julie Andrews singing 'Do, Re, Mi' begins to play on the public address system.

As the bemused passengers watch in amazement, some 200 dancers begin to appear from the crowd and station entrances.

They created this amazing stunt with just two rehearsals!

Enjoy!

Oh great. I can see it now. Xyz's Sound of Music Song tour in Antwerp. They'll show you the train station and 6 totally unrelated sights for $50. But you'll have fun singing "Do, Re, Mi" on the bus.

Come on Lee, Do you really think it will only be 50! Get real. Just kidding.

All the best, Monte

This was part of a promotion for a talent contest on a Flemish television station (VTM) last summer, "Op Zoek Naar Maria" (roughly translated, "In search of Maria"). Similar to "American Idol", but less mean-spirited, the contestants competed to play Maria in a stage production of the "Sound of Music".

I think this is the 5th time this video was posted...

I've watched this several times before seeing it posted here. Everytime I see it, it makes me smile and think "how fun". Fun for the performers and what a fun surprise to all the people going about their daily routine at the Bahnhof. It sure beats canned elevator music.
