I will be traveling around Europe from Aug 3rd-sept 7 with my wife and we hoped to catch a soccer match while there. Will there be any leagues in action? I did some searching and it looked like maybe we would have the best luck in Italy and Spain toward late august/early sept.

The German Bundesliga will start the weekend of Aug 22-24. I haven't been able to find the details, yet. You may be able to find the matches in this link, you will have to check back in a few weeks:

Obviously it would depend which countries you are visiting. The Premier League starts mid August with fixtures announced on 18th June.

In Spain and Italy the grounds are less likely to be full than England or Germany. A lot depends on what "style" of football you prefer of course.
