We will be visiting Sibiu, Sighisoara and Brasov in October, several days in each city. We would like to see a local folk dance performance. Any suggestions welcome.

If you are in Bucharest, there is a restaurant called Caru’ cu Bere that has traditional dances every night, and it was really wonderful to watch. October is a little trickier for folk shows than the summer months. Sibiu’s big Cântecele Munților folk festival is held in August, so that one will have already finished by the time you are there. Smaller folk performances can be connected to local events rather than running as a regular weekly show. Sighișoara also has events in October, although finding a specifically Romanian folk dance performance can be a bit harder.
