Flying to Greek Island

I am flying with Aegean Airlines from Athens to Rome and am also considering a flight from Athens to Santorini. I read that "Passengers must arrive at the gate at least 3 hours before their departure for international travel and 2 hours before departure for domestic travel." Does anyone know if one can check-in using the web or does one actually need to be At the Gate 3 hours before departure?

Flights within Europe are considered domestic flights and the 1.5 to 2 hours is adequate. Shorter time early in the morning and longer time later in the day. I believe you can check via the web and print boarding passes. We flew Athens to Rome a couple of years ago. Seem to remember we printed boarding passes at the hotel.

Hello David. At the ATHENS airport, you do not need to be there very early for an Aegean Airlines flight to the island Santorini. An other Greek island that I like is Naxos (located in approximately the center of the Cyclades islands). Naxos has an airport. Naxos has more of a variety than Santorini, and a very pleasant waterfront.
