Flying into London & out from Prague- 10 days- HELP with in between!

My fiance and I are planning 10 full days in Europe for our Honeymoon this July (8th-19th, 2 of which will be travel). The cities we definitely want to see are London, Amsterdam, & Prague. We fly into London & out from Prague.

Do you have recommendations as to how to travel between the cities, how much time to allot each city (we could do 3 days/city and have 4 days in ONE city)? Also would love to know other spots along the way worth seeing on our trip- we've heard Brugge is fabulous.

Is it wisest to book hotels ahead of time, or play it by ear once there for maximum flexibility?

Cheers- we appreciate it!

Hi,

Are you taking trains to Prague or flying from Amsterdam? We are flying into Paris and then training to Amsterdam where we then will train to Bacharach and Rothenburg for a couple nights each before heading to Prague. That way you dont have as many hours straight on a train.

Another option is to fly from Amsterdam to Prague on a discount airline. You can get some pretty cheap flights on SkyEurope, RyanAir and EasyJet.

Thanks Jon for your reply!

We aren't sure yet which way we'll get from Amsterdam to Prague- considering either a budget airline or the overnight train (to save the cost of a night's lodging).

Any thoughts on how best to allocate our 10 days between these 3 cities, and any other stops we should try to hit in between?

Thanks again!

Our trip is revolving around Paris and Prague, so we are spending 3 nights in Paris and 5 in Prague. Prague is considerably cheaper and in my opinion more fun looking so we wanted to maximize our time there. There is also lots else to see outside of the city to allocate time to. We threw Amsterdam in the end to satisfy our curiosity and are just spending 2 nights there. Personally, I would stay 3 nights in London/Amsterdam and spend more time in Prague.

One of our big decisions was if we wanted to experience the train more, skip it and just fly as it actually ends up being the same price if you get the right tickets. It is a tough choice, but if you were going to do a night train to Prague from Amsterdam, you might as well fly if you can and save the time.

If I was training it from Amsterdam to Prague, I would try to hit a few of German cities on the way (like Rothenburg, etc.). It is all a matter of timing though.

We booked all our hotels ahead of time. As the pricing was what we expected when we got the quotes we figured it would reduce the stress load once in Europe if had at least where we are sleeping booked.

10 days is such a short time.
I would say fly if you can afford it-maybe you can get a cheap flight from London to Amsterdam and then on to Prague- at best you would only have 3 days in each of these cities (they all deserve the full 10 especially Prague)- Don't forget jet lag to make the first one short.
Also July is high season so you might want to think about booking some hotels. I go to Europe every year in April and it is getting harder and harder to get into places that are recommended without prebooking.
