Hello all -
I live in Seattle but am flying to Italy from Vancouver in May ( the flights are considerably cheaper than from Seattle even considering parking and a hotel). Does anyone have recommendations re long term parking near the Vancouver airport? I am thinking of staying in Vancouver at an airport hotel on the day I return before driving back to Seattle and understand that some hotels include a certain amount of parking days. I will probably just drive up to Vancouver on the day of my flight as it leaves at 3:45pm. Thanks in advance!
Hi Maureen. I have used park-n-fly several times. The shuttle bus comes regularly and drops you off at the door. Price is around $70/week? There are discounts if you prebook or you can get a coupon online. They also give points.
There are a few local hotels that may let you keep your car there for a fee.

Take one of the Airport Shuttles from Seattle to Vancouver. The Airport is actually in Richmond...so is not near Downtown. The Drive is just over 2 hrs...maybe you can have a friend drive and pick you up. I have no info about long term parking, but I think that you can treat your friend to a night in Vancouver instead of paying for parking. PS They would need Passport or Pass to cross border too.
Kathleen - the quick shuttle from downtown Seattle to the Vancouver airport was my first thought too but the timing for the bus is a little tight for my flight at least according to the current schedule.
And thank you Debbie and Anita - Parknfly looks like a good possibility if I can't find a hotel with parking.
Hi Maureen, There are many hotels that offer free parking near the airport that also have a shuttle service. In the past we have stayed at Accent Inn, Travel Lodge, La Quinta (includes breakfast if not too early departure), Sandman Inn and Coast Airport Hotels. Some give you one week parking with each night that you stay, so two weeks total if you stay before and after your trip. Some hotels give you extra nights at a discounted rate as well. We've had good luck with the discounted parking at the Coast hotel. Its been 3 years since we
ve flown out of Vancouver so some of this info could be stale but at least it`s somewhere for you to start. I suggest that you register with Booking.com, log in and you may get extra special rates. Hope that this helps. Sherry
Maureen,
There seem to be lots of Park & Fly options near YVR......

I haven't checked but there may be similar deals for hotels that are located farther from the airport. If you can find one on the SkyTrain line, that's an easy way to get to the airport.
We have and are using Parknfly this summer. They are a good, reliable, no frills outfit. Airport to motel service is convenient and reliable. If you call rather than use the website you can get indefinite outside, ungated parking for free for months on end. Covered, gated, longterm parking is more
you don't say when in May you are traveling, but keep in mind that Monday, May 23 is a statutory holiday in Canada, and that will be a very busy weekend at the border crossing. Allow plenty of time for the border crossing!
I was shocked at the difference in prices between Seattle and Vancouver to Italy. Can anyone recommend a good, reliable shuttle?
Thanks!
I've never used them, but you could have a look at this option....

From the Pacific Central Bus station in Vancouver, you can reach the airport easily using this route....
- walk to Main Street Skytrain station (about 5 minutes)
- take the Expo line (direction Waterfront) to Granville Station (2 stops)
- walk to the Vancouver City Centre station (about 5 minutes)
- take the Canada Line Skytrain (direction airport) to YVR
If you need to stay one night in Vancouver prior to your flight, you can either stay at the very comfortable Fairmont Vancouver Airport, from which you can walk right into the terminals. For less expensive options, there are numerous hotels near the airport in Richmond, most/all of which will provide a Shuttle to the airport. Depending on the time of your flight, you could also stay in downtown Vancouver as getting to the airport is very easy on Skytrain. There are lots of posh hotels within walking distance from the Skytrain station (I can suggest a few if you're interested).
Quick Shuttle ruins from Sea-Tac Airport and downtown Seattle to the Vancouver Airport and downtown Vancouver.
The Quick shuttle looks like a good option from Seattle. The bus picks up at the convention center downtown as well as the airport and drops off near the Vacnouver airport. The timing doesn't work for me this time as I can't get to the Vancouver airport early enough for my flight.
And yes - flights from Vancouver are much less expensive than from Seattle. Not sure why but we are lucky to be near enough to the border to have that option.
