Flying from Paris to Venice

Hi there. Wondering if anyone knows of the best airline to use to fly from Paris to Venice. I've been hearing negative things bout Ryanair but there are quite a few other options to choose from. I've also heard that it's best to just buy tickets when we get to Paris rather than buying them ahead of time. Your advice is appreciated. P.S. We're flying in September. Thanks!

last time I flew paris to venice we took MyAir (www.myair.com). Had no problems. It flew out of Orly and into the main airport in Venice. If you already know what day you're flying, you might as well book in advance, you'll probably get a better rate than waiting.

Looks like MyAir is actually less expensive than EasyJet. Thanks for the tip! I'm finally getting somewhere.

We flew Lufthansa from CDG to Venice last spring. It was reasonably priced. We purchased tickets from our travel agent ahead of time, as we were going to join a RS tour of Venice, Florence & Rome and didn't want to risk not getting to the start of our tour on time. The RS tour guide frown on being late!

With budget airlines it's definitely to your advantage to book as soon as you can commit to a date and time. If you wait until you get to Paris, you'll likely have to pay as much as you would for flying on a national carrier. Just be sure you observe the luggage weight limits and be doubly sure that you meet the check-in deadline. If you're late, your ticket will be worthless.

Fly EasyJet. Myself and my parents flew from Paris to Venice in April with EasyJet. You fly out of CDG and land at the main Venice airport, only a boat ride away from the Grand Canal. No out of the way airports like Ryan Air. I would buy ahead of time, as there are usually sales on, I would suggest checking out their website.

We flew from Paris to Venice earlier this month as part of our European trip. Thankfully, someone here advised me against Ryanair for the same reasons mentioned above: the airports they use are far away from the cities. It's deceptive advertising for them to call Beauvais a "Paris" airport when it's actually quite far away.

We ended up using Vueling Airlines for our flight -- its flight schedule happened to work well for us, and they do use both CDG and the main Venice airport. It was a positive experience and I would fly with them again. Just make sure that you get to the airport in plenty of time, as they say that their checkin counter closes 40 minutes before the flight, no exceptions.

And I'm not sure who suggested that you buy tickets when you get to Paris, but I would disagree. I think you'll get a much better rate if you book your flight well in advance. We did that using their website (vueling.com).
