Flying from Ireland to England and back

We will be flying from Shannon to London and traveling back to Ireland on a flight from Manchester to Dublin. Will we have our passports stamped on these journeys? As these are almost treated as domestic flights, how early before the flight departure should we arrive at the airports?

Thank you for any insight.

Assuming you are using "robbin Ryan," 2 hours should be enough, BUT make sure you follow all of their instructions for printing boarding passes, prepaying for luggage and so forth--and yes, your passports will be stamped on arrival into the U.K. Also, make sure you have the name and address on where you will be staying in the U.K. as this is required on the arrival document you will get before passport control.

There will be passport checks at Dublin on arrival, but there won't be any coming into London.

If it makes any difference, we're using AerLingus on both legs and we've already prepaid for baggage. Thank you so much for the information about having our hotel address - I was unaware that was needed.

Marco summed up exactly what you need: exactly nothing. The prior post was incorrect in its entirety.

This may not affect you, but flying from Shannon to London on Aer Lingus 3 years ago, the Shannon airport security wouldn't allow any "tools." I was carrying my bicycle mini combo-tool (compact device with wrenches, screwdriver, bottle opener) which had not been a problem leaving or entering the USA or England, but Ireland prohibits "tools." The most I could've done onboard was maybe loosen the tray table in front of me, or poke my seatmate, but for them a tool was a tool. Arriving 2 hours prior to take-off, I was able to find a small box at the airport, put the mini tool in it, and check it before the flight took off. Our passports were stamped.

Jerry is wrong. There is no requirement to have arranged somewhere to stay before you arrive. I flew into London last August and was not asked any such question. I'm sure there are many travelers who have not yet arranged accommodation before they arrive. You will not encounter a problem if you don't have your hotel name and address.
