We need to get from Dubrovnik, Croatia, to Venice, Italy on May 31st to catch a flight that leaves Venice for Paris at 8:40 pm. I have looked at a ton of site and cannot find a non-stop flight. The best option seems to be buying on Crotia Airlines a flight that changes planes in Vienna and arrives in Venice at 6:40 pm. It seems to be the cheapest (though over $400 US), shortest (just under 4 hrs with transfer). My concern is that is 2 hrs enough time to arrive in Venice, get our bags, and check in for our flight to Paris? One last thing...is there a better option?
"One last thing...is there a better option?" Yes. Unless I'm missing something, cancel the Venice-Paris flight and just book Dubrovnik to Paris. You probably won't get a direct flight, but I see on Expedia.com right now that you can get a one-way airfare for as low as $117/person going through Zagreb on Croatia Air or $208/person going through Barcelona on Iberia.
hi Kathy, yes, there aren't direct flights from Dubrovnik to Venice. A while back, I traveled in that direction and changed flights in Munich. My flight from Munich to Venice was delayed for nearly two hours, so I definitely wouldn't suggest risking this if you need to get to Venice by the time of your Paris flight. As suggested, your best bet is to get a flight to Paris. Croatian Airlines is pretty decent.
