Do internal French flights have the same "must check your liquids or under 3 oz. in a baggy" rule as the USA flights?
Yes...that's an EU rule as well as in the USA.
Best to review the rules of that airline and the European equivalent of the TSA. While in a broad sense rules for liquids and permissable objects are the same, the details can differ. As an example, in the US you are allowed to carry on a corkscrew...in the EU, you are not. In a related note, I thought I had read something about relaxing the liquids ban sometime this year...I will have to search around.
Paul, I read an article recently that says that the US hopes to eliminate the liquid restriction towards the end of this year. Each airport has to install better machines for carry-on inspections. So this will end up being a slow roll-out and probably confusing until all US airports have completed this. Hopefully this is still true.
