My husband and I are planning to take our first trip to Europe this June with about 14-16 days to work with. Both of us has been to 1-2 cities on business previously (myself to Moscow and Frankfurt, him to Amsterdam), but this will be our first personal trip to actually explore the places we'd like to go.
We know we would like to hit London and Paris for sure as we have family and specific sites we'd like to see in those places, but are struggling to determine the best cit(ies) to round out our itinerary. One option is to take advantage of the trains connecting Paris with Brussels and Amsterdam which would be time-efficient and convenient geographically. I've also heard others recommend Munich and Vienna as being more interesting that Brussels/Amsterdam. Finally, I've also toyed with the idea of heading down to the south of France from Paris and possibly hitting Nice or Provence. (As a note, Italy is out for this trip as we plan to take another trip to Italy in the future.)
I'm just having a terribly hard time deciding what's worthwhile for a first trip! Any advice is appreciated!
