With 8 days, limit yourself to Rome and Florence. In Rome, staying in the area of Piazza Navona, Pantheon, or Camp Fiori will put you walking distance of most sights, even the Vatican if you are a good walker. In Florence, anywhere in the historic city center is walkable to all the sights and the train station. Take a day trip by bus to somewhere else in Tuscany like Siena. 4 days in Rome and 4 in Florence.

Italy is wonderful, it is so filled with history, art and culture. Also, I love the food.

You seem to say that you have 8 days for your trip. Not sure if that is only for Rome or the entire trip. If the eight days is a total for Italy, I suggest 3-4 days in Rome, 2-3 days in Florence and 2 days in Venice.

I suggest taking the train. Train travel in Italy is still relatively inexpensive. You can arrange your flights as open jaw, fly into Rome and out of Venice.

In researching your for Hotels, I like having a guidebook, like Rick Steves. Kayak.com is a great website to check hotel prices, but after checking, book directly with the hotel. Also, use TripAdvisor website to check reviews of hotels. There is a great map feature that allows you to compare hotels on a map, hold the cursor over the hotel and the price shows.

To book a hotel in a convenient downtown location, you are looking at a $200 per night minimum.

One source of local tours (day tours) is Viator. There, you will find many tours for each city, but some of your touring can be done on your own. Still, some places like the Sistine Chapel in Rome will require booking in advance.

Thank you so much is 8 day in total. Flight in and out of Rome. If was not sure to stay in a Rome hotel centrally and take a tour to Venice and come back to Rome the same day

Book an air conditioned room as soon as possible. Rick's book is perfect for Rome and Italy but the hotel recommendations may already be full. Morning and evening are great but it will be hot midday. I would live like the locals and take a riposo. I enjoyed Albergo Santa Chiara Hotel next to the Pantheon.

... the hotel the bed are very hard.... Don't know where you are reading or hearing that. Over a number of years and nearly a month in Rome, I have never had a hard bed or even a very hard bed. We always used hotels in the Termini area for convenience to transit and restaurants.

I hypothesized that the OP is not a native English speaker, and I interpreted it that wanda has having a hard time finding a good place that would be walking distance of the major sights.

Hotel Alimandi is across the street from Vatican Museums. On our last trip we stayed there 2 nights and then went to a much less expensive convent near the Colesseum. Florence is a great walking city, with many convenient places to stay.
