Finding a qualified nurse

Hi,
I'm considering travelling Europe for up to 6 months. However, every 3 months I need to receive an injection which is administered by a qualified nurse. Dies anyone have any suggestions please?

I suspect that it's a bridge too far and I'll have to limit my travel plans to 3 months at a maximum.

First, according to your citizenship and visa status, 6 months is a lot of time; most Schengen countries will limit non-EU citizens to 90 days maximum.
Second, Europe is a large place; you should ask about the place you will visit. For example, for Florence you could go to one of Misericordia medical practices (there are four in Florence, one quite close to Duomo) where - as long as you bring your own drug and have a medical statement that you need such injections - a qualified nurse is available at selected times; the service is geared to local old people. But I could not tell for places other than Florence.

I doubt, if handled properly, that you would have problems in most countries. But best to get all the ducks in a row prior to coming. Local contacts are not essential for that, but sure would be convenient. If Hungary is the location, i could point you in the right direction.

My guess is you may need to purchase your meds locally as a nurse may have issues with injecting something not obtained by a local doctors order. That of course means visiting a local doctor with all of your US paperwork.

I am an extended tourist here (well over 90 days) and it's exactly what I had to do. Everything worked out easy. Great doctors, great care, cheap meds. Fortunately I got good at slamming the needle into my thigh all by myself.
