Let's avoid trying to boss other people around, especially if you say you have asked this multiple times. What people put on their profile is voluntary, yes place of residence may well be helpful but beyond that this is social media, I'm not comfortable with putting my life story on social media.
If you are asking about train travel. Tell us in advance the day, the time, the train number. We'll be looking up schedules.
That is trying to put barriers up. People are entitled to just ask about trains from Krakow to Budapest without knowing anything else. And train numbers matter more for fast trains, for regional trains not as much, if at all.
In the UK and Ireland for instance we don't really even have train numbers known by the public.
If you ask me about 1A16 from Chester to London Euston (a real number) I'm going to look blank at you, if you ask me about the 1014 Chester to London Euston (the same train on a Sunday) I know what on earth you mean. Train 'headcodes' such as 1A16 are actually repeated across the UK so 1A16 on it's own tells me very little as well as being a headache- there are quite likely several 1A16 trains across the country.
If you knew somehow that the reporting number (which is unique) for that train is 4541 that will give me an even bigger headache in trying to find it, let alone if you had the revenue code for the train (which some electronic tickets give).
Please just ask me about trains from Chester to London, and I'll tell you everything you need to know, and probably a lot you didn't need to know, but I will never ever tell you that you are on 1A16.
