Favorite Language Phrasebooks?

I'm looking for recommendations on language phrasebooks. I'm not looking for an in-depth language course, just something to help get me by. (I'd love an in-depth study course, but finding the time is a problem, but thats another issue!).

I'm particularlly looking for something with good pronunciation help. Its one thing to know that "please"=>"palun" but is that "pay"-"LOON" or "paul"-"yun" or "pal"-"on" or "pale"-"on"

The languages I'm looking for are French, Estonian, Russian, and Finnish.

Matt,

Rick's Phrasebook for French would be a good choice, but he doesn't cover the Eastern European languages. The only books that I know of would be the Lonely Planet series. Check their website to see if they have books covering the languages you need.

Good luck!

Berlitz has a nice phrase book for Finnish. I know it must be tough to figure out how to pronounce the words in a language that has a totally different way of doing it from English. Good luck!

I'm a big fan of the Lonely Planet phrasebooks. They have a good selection for the size, plus the pages are color coded for easy access in those situations where you need it. It also has a number of pictures with names for items (like a dinner table).

When I researched books I found that they generally contained the same material. Go to your local book store and pick the one that is the easiest for you to navigate.
