Fascinating website about historical sites of England and Wales (and a bit of Egypt and Normandy)

I accidentally came across a site called "Seeing the Past" that was started by two British retired teachers who love history, and found it amazing. There are no ads and no "blogging." Just a ton of information and commentary about the history of numerous destinations they have traveled to, along with lots of inspiring photos. I'm putting this in General Europe since they not only cover England but also Wales and some Egypt and Normandy sites.

In their words: Seeing the Past was created to bring to life the stories behind historic buildings and events. Read about the Tudor history on our blog. We are John and Loretta - two teachers who have spent a lifetime visiting historical places in the UK and abroad on holidays, school trips and any time we've had spare. This site is not just for history lovers but for the whole family.

It's very well organized, too. You can search by locations, time periods or just go to index and scroll through. Time periods start with ancient Egypt and go all the way through WWII. Plus probably more I haven't discovered. I think any traveler who loves history would love this site. https://www.seeingthepast.com

Glad you all like it! I'm planning to use it extensively to find out info about places I will be traveling to this spring. It's just such a breath of fresh air to see a site like this with no affiliate links and nudges to get you to the "The Prettiest Towns in the World". And such useful information.
