Does anyone know if EasyJet will grant price adjustments on flights already booked and then EasyJet reduces fare prices or has a temporary fare sale? Booked two flights on EasyJet and now they have a 20% off fare sale that is available until Tuesday. Was hoping they would refund the difference.
Donna,
well, you could ask them and see what they say.
All they can do is to say no.
good luck and happy trails.
Thanks, Ray. Thought I would try to find response before calling overseas. I don't have international phone plan so whenever I call to Europe it always seems to cost me $50+
Let us know what happens on this.
Thanks and good luck on getting the adjustment.
Good luck. I rate your chances between zero and none.
I agree. Just go about your way and be glad budget air carriers exist.
It's doubtful that you can even find someone to talk to. They're more of an internet company.
donna,
you can always email them too.
happy trails.
EasyJet prices always go up, never down. How long ago did you book your flight? Just because it is 20% off, doesn't mean it will be cheaper than you paid.
If tickets don't sell as expected, EasyJet does indeed lower fares.
I checked. Prices for both flights were almost 50% what I paid ...same exact flight. I tried emailing and they told me to call an int'l number. When I call overseas it usually costs me $50+ without int'l phone rates. As I was doubtful they would adjust rates thought I'd hit forum with hopes someone would have had similar experience. Tried one more time to email with all details. If they respond with good news, great. But if no, and insist I call overseas, I will just drop it. Thank you, all, for your kind responses!
If you call using Skype you can call for about a dime.
I will be interested to hear because this would go against every expereince I have had with easyJet in my life (don't get me wrong, I like them, but they are pretty rigid). Personally, I think that it is just the luck of the draw. You buy at the going rate and take your chances - if prices had gone up you would not expect EasyJet to ask for more money.
donna,
These easyJet policies may be applicable in your situation.....
"Article 25 Price Promise
25.1 If You have, or the Booker on Your behalf has, made a Booking directly through the Website and You, or the Booker, subsequently find that lower fares (when taken together with all applicable fees and charges) for the same easyJet Flight have become available, You will be refunded the difference as a credit voucher against future Flights on easyJet. The only exception to this “price promise” is if the lower fares have been offered as part of a promotional offer that is launched after You have purchased the Flight. For the avoidance of doubt, this Article 25 will not apply to any Booking made on Your behalf by any licensed third party booking systems (e.g.: travel agents, screen scrapers) or through easyJet’s Call Centre.
25.2 Each Flight will be treated separately. This credit voucher will be valid for use against Bookings made within 6 months from the date of issue of the credit voucher. The credit voucher will expire at midnight on the expiry date and the validity of the credit voucher cannot be extended.
25.3 To qualify for a refund, the lower fare must still be available for sale at the time the claim is made to Our Customer Service Team and must be for the same date, destination and Flight number as in the Booking made.
25.4 If Your “price promise” request is in respect of a Booking that has been subject to a "Flight Transfer" or a "Name Change" request (see Article 8 (Name Changes) and Article 9 (Flight Transfers and Flexible Fares (“easyJet Flexi”)) then easyJet will only consider the total fare (including all applicable fees and charges) in the original Booking as the reference point for the “price compare”, not the sum of the all inclusive fare paid in the initial Booking plus the additional fees and charges incurred as a result of the name change or Flight transfer. All transfer fees and name change fees are non-refundable.
25.5 Claims made in relation to this “price promise” must be made via telephone to Our Customer Service Team. Claims made by fax, letter or email will not be accepted."
You'll have to contact them to see if this applies to your situation.
Good luck!
Thank you, Ken! What you forwarded was very helpful. I don't believe my tickets would qualify for the refund voucher since the lower seat prices are the result of a Promotional Sale. Thought it would be a long shot, but we have a few airline carriers in the States, like Southwest Airlines and Jet Blue, that will refund the difference in seat price in the form of a flight voucher.
You have all been very kind, helpful, and supportive. This is my first time using Rick Steves' Travel Forum and it has been a terrific experience. Happy traveling to all of you! Best regards, Donna
