Our family consisting of parents & 2 adult children is planning on taking the RS Alpine My Way tour in summer of 2018. Two questions:
1) when willl booking start for this trip?
2) are there discounts for family of 4, or is each person priced at stated fare?
I'm new to forum, looking forward to good info from savvy travelers.

Most summer bookings are posted beginning in August of the year prior. No, there are not discounts for group bookings. However, if, after that trip, any of you opts to take another RS trip, there will be a discount. And the multiple RS trip discounts are cumulative, so they increase with each subsequent trip.
The only other discounts I have seen come later on for trips with slow bookings, but it wouldn't be wise to wait and see if there is still space for your desired dates. There is also a $100 per traveler discount for trips booked during the annual RS travel fest in Edmonds in January.

Also, for 2017 there was a $100 per family coupon for use at the RS store -- if you book this tour separately for each couple (different home addresses) you might get two $100 shopping sprees to get suitcases, daypacks, tour books, money belts ...

I think there's usually a $100 discount in late fall, not sure if it's per person or per booking.

They will also (or used to, anyway) discount your trip for passport costs for a first-time passport holder. A little known but nice perk!

There's also an $100 per person discount for booking early. I think the date is 11/30/17 for 2018 tours.
