we are driving from edinburgh to cardiff any one know of a castle we could sleep at for 1 night that is not break your bank expensive? thanks

You might get more and better suggestions if you post this under the section about Great Britain called "To the North". If you have posted in both places, posters may tend to ignore one or the other.

I started looking a bit for you. The Castles I've stayed in are not on your route, In the process of looking Traqair House came up and it was listing 70 pounds! I'd stay there in a heartbeat. Don't let the word "house" but you off. It's a very old and impressive place. Check out the website. This is the castle I stated in, Stonefield, but it's way out of your way in Argyle. Some of these hotels require a two day stay minimum. If you wanted to stay further north, there would probably be more options. Pam
