Well, I don't think the 'number of cases' is accurate, because they are only determined by the numbers tested. So, if they aren't accurate, then the other numbers are a bit ambiguous also. I'm not sure how helpful charts like that are at this stage.

Charts are extremely helpful. They are data points. Even when testing is lagging it does open the doors to trends- especially when areas that are testing well; as this provides a look into the development of a disease and its progression.

Assuming this thing acts like the flu--as it seems to be acting--the warmer weather coming to the northern hemisphere is going to cause this thing to go away, at least for a while. Perhaps by mid May. And that will presumably buy our/Europe's half of the world enough time to develop an effective vaccine should it come back next winter.

Great charts because you can see recovered, serious, etc.

Matt, I'm with you. I'm more worried how many people will die due to economic panic. I think it's the larger of the two threats.

James E, I agree.

Looking at the referenced website, it looks like this thing has already peaked in China (but that does require one to assume the accuracy of the statistics they are reporting, which might be a bit of an assumption).

The 2003 SARS (coronavirus family) timeline indicates the SARS dissipated starting in May and into June and July of 2003. I am confident this is the case today.

I am on the June 14 Eastern Europe tour and I am not planning on cancelling unless it is cancelled by default.

It’s summer in Australia and it’s there too. So, I hope you are correct for the northern hemisphere.

Because there is no vaccine for CoVid-19 and there is for the common flu, I can’t use flu statistics of previous years to play down what’s happening today with the pandemic. We all see it’s spreading and travel is spreading it. Of course this is extremely disappoint and disheartening as we all wish to just go!

My state of MA just declared its state of emergency, eliminating non essential travel. WHO declared it a pandemic. Sometimes it’s out of our control and we need to be flexible and wise about health just as we need to be flexible and smart about travel.

Diane yes we have quite a few people testing positive here in summertime Australia. Most new cases via the USA.
Will the weather affect the spread? Wait and see I guess.
Tom Hanks and his wife are in lockdown in Qld. after testing positive.

This is good information.
I am more grateful for the life I had before this virus thing.
Still hoping warmer weather tames it, like the flu. Australia notwithstaning.
