Thank you to all those who have preached about arriving a day early for a tour. I am now on a tour to Italy the extra day to recover from jet lag was good. However, the best thing was having cushion to account for travel delays. I had two delays on my flights which resulted in my arrival at the tour site 9 hours late. If I had not had the extra day I would have missed the tour start. There were two other tour members who were 12 hours late due to flight delays. They also had that extra day so did not miss the start of the tour.
Bob!! Glad you got there early even though it was late!! Yes, this and the potential for train strikes are why I always go in early to a tour.
Have a wonderful time. Hope you are in the non-flooded part of the country.
If it is a transatlantic flight prior to a cruise, I would go two days early. Tougher to catch up to those…….
Hi Bob, you can tell which of your tour mates flew in that day - they’re the ones falling asleep during dinner!
British air controller strike, bomb scare, engine repair, plane from Europe late. Those are some of the problems that made my transatlantic flights get me there late.
