Express Trains along the Italian/French Riviera?

Hello travelers!

I'm having trouble determining if there are any express trains with fewer stops along the northern mediterranean coast between Genova, Italy and Barcelona, Spain. We have a long way to travel in a short period of time and would rather get off the train a couple times then spend all our time in 20-30 minutes connections along the way.

Thanks for your help!

The route with the fewest connections is a regional train from Genova Piazza Principe to Novara and a EuroNight train from there to Barcelona Estacion de Franca. Depart at 17:30 and arrive at 09:43.

See the timetables on the German Rail site.

Thanks, Tim. We did look into the overnight, but it only runs on M-W-F. Also, we don't want to miss the ride by going at night - just want to see if we can breeze by some of the many stops.

Unfortunately, you're out of luck. In France, with all roads leading to Paris (it seems) cross-link connections with Spain and Italy are extremely poor. For daytime trains, you're looking at a minimum of 18 hours with at least five changes. Sorry.
