Excellent Travel Adapter

I just wanted to post about a travel adapter that I used on my last trip. It is an all-in-one, so you can use it anywhere. The best thing about it is that it has a built in surge protector, so you can use it for electronics. Many travel adapters specifically say in fine print that they are not to be used with electronic equipment. Anyhow, this worked great for us. Kristy, thanks for posting that, as I'm sure the information will be of use to many others here.

To summarize the functions of the product, it's a Euro Plug Adaptor with built-in Surge Suppression and Filtering. It appears to have only the two-pin Euro plug for connection to the power point, however the "load" side is designed to accept Plugs from just about anywhere. I couldn't tell from the photo but it appears that it's designed to work with recessed outlets.

I wanted to provide a bit of clarification on your comment "Many travel adapters specifically say in fine print that they are not to be used with electronic equipment". Those warnings are usually applied to solid-state Voltage Converters, which should only be used with "simple" electrical devices such as Hair Dryers. If a Voltage Converter is required to operate 115 VAC electronic products in Europe, a Transformer model rather than solid-state should be used.

AFAIK, the product described in your link can be used with any electrical or electronic product, but it doesn't provide any voltage conversion! Therefore it's still important for each person travelling in areas served by 220 VAC power to ensure that any products they use with this All In One Surge Protector are designed for operation from 100-240 VAC.

Cheers!

Thanks for the explanation, Ken. To clarify, it does have different options for plugging into outlets- the two prong one folds down and other options are able to be pushed out. It also does work with recessed outlets, which is great.
