Oh, yeah. I ALWAYS put the old one back!! And I usually ASK if there's a stronger one available. I understand about conserving energy, but some of those bulbs (especially in Europe) are not much stronger than night-lights.
I check into my room, do some laundry then head out. I'm usually back in my room at bed time and only there long enough in the morning to get ready to go.
It's one of the reasons budget rooms are great for me, they are a place to sleep rather than a place to stay.
I always thought it's a good idea to put in a bigger lightbulb, then I realized I'm never in my room so it doesn't matter for me.
