If we purchase a Germany Benelux pass, is there any discount on a Eurostar ticket from Brussels to London?
Yes, you can buy a passholder fare ticket for €89.00. You must buy it at a Eurostar station (not available online). However, if you book well in advance (up to 120 days allowed) on eurostar.com, you can get a point-to-point discount fare ticket for as little as €49.50.
From my experience, a Germany-Benelux pass isn't a great deal; it depends on exactly where you're traveling. Germany can be downright cheap if you do it right, and Belgium isn't expensive. As Tim said, the passholder fare (the additional fare you pay on top of your Railpass) is nearly as much as a regular ticket is in itself. (That famously goes for Thalys routes, too) Where exactly are you planning to take trains, when, and how many people (adults and kids) are traveling?
Our trip starts in Prague. Taking the night train to Krakow. Taking Air Berlin from Krakow to Berlin. From Berlin to Amsterdam and then London but thought I'd break up the trip to London by having lunch in Brussels. What the heck. There are 4 of us. 2 adults and 2 adult children, ages 18 and 22.
Left out a few words there...was thinking of taking a high speed train from Berlin to Amsterdam if that existed. Otherwise, we may book EasyJet to save time.
I didn't get you dates, so I'll have to make one up...You can get fares for 39€ b/n Berlin and Amsterdam (no connections, 2nd cl; 69€ 1st cl) if you buy them in advance (90 days in advance and counting down...). I found some tickets for 45€ Amsterdam > Brussels (Thalys), then Brussels > London for $66 each. That lunch in Brussels is gonna cost you. These tickets must be purchased ASAP - the time frames are typically 90 in advance and 120 days (Eurostar). They are also - for the most part - non-refundable and non-exchangeable. If you don't make the train, you're out that much money. IF you can commit, you can save a whole lot of money, though!
