Hello -
I am traveling for 3 weeks next month with my sister and two daughters (18 & 14) to Europe. Here is our itinerary:
Flying into Prague - overnight train to Budapest - Vienna - Rothenburg - Colmar (staying here for a bit) - day trip to Paris - Zermatt - Zurich (flying home). We might also schedule another day trip from Colmar to somewhere but not really sure.
My question is - I have no clue what pass I should buy?? I am thinking the Global Pass for 2 Youths and 2 Adults traveling together to get the discount? Do I have to do the 10-day one or can I get away with the 7 and buy additional tickets? Does going roundtrip to Paris count as 2 trips if its in the same day? We would like to book an overnight room with beds on the train to Budapest so does that count as 1 trip plus the overnight or is it just the overnight/beds charge? Also, it looks like I can only buy 1st Class for the adults so then I have to buy 1st Class for the kids so we can all sit together? Do I need reservations on each leg? Does that cost more??
I'm really confused, as my gibberish questions probably indicate! I have been to Europe 5 times but have not taken the train much other than a couple times per each trip. This time we really want to explore a lot of different cities but trying to figure out the least expensive way so I can spend more money on wine and food!!
Thank you in advance -
