Hello. My husband and I are planning a 6 month trip to Europe next year and are hoping at this stage to visit quite a few European countries, including the UK and Iceland. We both have an Australian and European passport. Will this eliminate our need to obtain visas? Thanks
Probably, but there are no immigration experts on this site so you should check with the appropriate embassy.
Not sure what you mean by European Passport, Passports are issued by countries, not the EU. Your Australian passport gets you 90 days in the Schengen Countries and at least 6 months in the UK and some in Ireland. Aside from that, talk to the country that issued your other passport for stay limits.
She is posting this in different places with different information. She has a UK passport.
That they have UK passports means that they're either a) British citizens OR b) British overseas territories citizens OR c) British overseas citizens OR d) British subjects OR e) British nationals (overseas) OR f) British protected persons.
(Note to self: having an empire in which the sun never sets creates interesting citizenship laws...)
Only a) would eliminate the need for EU visas (edited to add:) for a stay longer than three months in the Schengen area.
