European Internet Radio Stations?

Do you have any favourite European Radio Stations that you listen to over the internet? I sometimes listen to Klassik Radio out of Germany. It features classical music, movie theme songs, and news, weather and some features in German. http://www.klassikradio.de/ Are there any internet stations that you listen to and can personally recommend? What kind of music, etc, do they play?

I enjoy the BBC RadioMerseyside. Its a combo of talk and some music (not usually new pop or rock), but I enjoy the content, particularly the football stuff. I believe BBC provides many regional broadcasts so a person could pick the area they are interested in. Once I fired off an email about a football issue they were discussing and they read it on the air. The host thought I was "smart"! One time I was listening and they were talking about a traffic snarl caused by a bus accident. How weird to continue listening and find out the bus was full of a bunch of kids from Toronto area who were on a school trip. Thank goodness nobody was seriously hurt. Later that day I heard about it on our news when I was driving home from work.

I listen to RTE Radio 1 from Ireland through an app on my iPhone, but mostly because I want to hear the news so I know what's going on where the other half of the family is living. They play music which ranges anywhere from American funk and rock to Irish Trad depending on what time of day you turn it on. Generally, I only listen at night before I go to sleep since that is when the early morning news shows come on the radio over there. At our beach house we have some digital wireless audio system hooked up through Sonos & Google and we can access satellite radio stations from all over the world so sometimes we check out what they are listening to in places like Russia, Jamaica, Japan, Thailand... I tend to tune in more to the Jamaican stations as they have ones that feature all Dance Hall or Reggae music.

I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but all I listen to on the radio is AFN. When I moved over here, it was my connection to America and it just wormed itself into my heart. It isn't the best station in the world, but they do announce traffic jams, and special events.

There is an iPhone app called Radio Netherlands with dozens of stations, rock, reggae, dance, many from the overseas territories. However listening can be a little dangerous because it often results in me wanting to buy a plane ticket.

BBC - various channels. Try Radio 4. You'll find it really different!!!! Excellent. Nightly farming soap (13mins called The Archers) splits the UK in two - lovers and haters - just celebrated it's 50 year!
