I am surprised. From my experiences Germany is the most organized, orderly, and efficient country on Earth.

Do they get a trophy?

We just heard on a European news outlet that Heathrow has so much lost luggage at the airport they are going to limit incoming flights till August. Can this be true? Definitely a time for carry on only.

My Husband and I will be flying into CDG on our way to Sofia, Bulgaria late August. We have 4 hours to make the connection to our flight with Bulgaria Air. Does anyone have information on delays getting through security, (since we will have to transfer our bags) getting through Passport control) at CDG? Also, not sure if anyone has any experience with Bulgaria Air, but seems like they are about the only way we can get to Sofia!! They only have one flight each day, so missing it will not be good!
Originally, we were connecting in Schiphol, but switched to CDG, due to the horror stories we heard on the RS forum. Now it seems there are issues across the board at major European airports. I keep checking, but, at this point, flight prices are really high , so making any changes seems unlikely. We are heading to a wedding in Bulgaria; I’d hate to miss this young lady’s special day!!
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

If you look at the arrivals on the Sofia airport web page you will see that there are many solutions and airlines other than Bulgaria Air from European airports in Spain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland ... etc

Thanks very much, JoLui!!! I will check the link you sent. Perhaps we will just fly to CDG, and then pick up an airline with more flexibility!
I appreciate your help!!
