European Destinations Suggetsions for 3 women traveling in April

Hi, we are three women looking for a four day destination somehwere in Europe this April. We are having a hard time coming up with where we should go---we are running out of Europe between the three of us. Any ideas/suggestions? We would like to relax (maybe on a beach) but we also want somewhere with some museums and cultural sights. We originally thought Andalusia was the perfect destination, but flights out of the UK are strangely timed and a bit tricky to get into Malaga, Seville, or Granada...

Other criteria:

1) We do not want to hire a car

2) Places that are 'out' because someone in the group has already been: UK, Italy (continental), Belgium, Germany, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Krakow, Bilbao, Madrid, Belgium.

Gratefully,
Confused Doctoral Students Abroad

Do you need to fly out of Norwich, or can you range further to catch a plane?

Hi Kate,
Norm's suggestion of using a different airport is a good one. I live in Bournemouth and the Thomson flight goes to Malaga at 5pm. There are also flights out of Southampton. I know that's a long way for you to go, but you might find something like that nearer to home.
Andalusia would be a great choice. There is great transport between cities, (check the website Andalucia.com for timetables and lots of information). Good luck!

If you want to fly out of Norwich, the best destination for four days that I don't see listed might be Paris. No beach, but a lovely city in April...not to sticky yet, and not overrun by tourists, a great city to relax and watch the world go by.....and I don't have to mention culture and museums. Flybe has flights Norwich-Paris CDG for as low as 1.17 GBP each way (plus taxes, etc), depending on which days you fly.

If you want a wider choice, Stansted airport outside London would probably be your best choice. There are 10 buses a day (three of them at ungodly hours) that run right to the airport, with a travel time of 2:40. From there, you'll have dozens of destinations to choose from. For bus schedules, check nationalexpress.co.uk. For airlines and destinations out of Stansted, check whichbudget.com

how about Greece? Although I think it's still a bit cold in April.

How about Amsterdam or Barcelona? Four days would be just about right for either city. Both have museums and culture, as well as an active nightlife. Barcelona has a beach near the Olympic village area (easily accessible by metro) that would be suitable for a little downtime between seeing the sites.

Turkey has some nice beaches as well as awesome archaeological sites. However, as was previously mentioned about Greece being a bit chilly, the same would apply to Turkey. And it might be a bit far for a 4-day trip. Crete, which is of course part of Greece, also has some nice beaches and archaelogical museums. I know there are flights from Frankfurt to Crete.
