Has any one used this web site to book their trips? They give more options then expedia and yahoo. I might go Rome 2 1/2 days, rails to florence 21/2 days then back to rome to fly back to the states. they offer a package including rails. If not I cannot figure how to get this done. ty sandy
I agree with the above post. Fly into Rome and out of Florence. It will save you time and money. You don't need a tour to go. It's very simple to do on your own. If you must have a company make arangements, I have used gotoday.com to make my hotel and flight reservations. Then, purchase a few guide books. Travel the Metro to the sights that interest you.
For those suggesting flying into Rome and out of Florence, consider doing the opposite. When one starts a trip, one is pretty excited and a longer trip up front with a shorter return is probably least exhausting. Remember, there are lots of direct flights to/from Rome but Florence will mean an extra plane.
Also consider that if one's baggage is delayed (due to the additional danger of an extra flight) on the outgoing trip, it is far more problematic than getting home without the baggage which comes sometime later.
