Booked a flight from US to Dublin in August, traveling with my husband, 2 adult daughters and one daughters 1 year old. 1 daughter has only been to Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia. The other England/Scotland/Dublin and Galway. We have been to UK, Ireland(not Southern), parts of Germany and eastern France and Norway. Most likely the 2 girls will stay 8-10 days. So suggestions on what would be a good itinerary for the 5 of us for 10 days. We are open to taking a flight from Dublin to the Europe mainland, possibly a cruise as well. We will more than likely take public transportation as my husband does not like to drive. This will be a birthday trip for me so hopefully I get to make most of the planning. I enjoy photography, scenery, hikes, old churches and castles and places off the beaten path...Thank you for your help. always get great feedback from this forum.
We traveled when our daughter was 10 months. We used an Osprey Poco child carrier. We started carrying her in it months earlier so she was used to it. She loved it. It has a sun shade so we could protect her. We also bought the rain cover. It kept her dry when it rained. It gave her enough space to move around. We tied her favorite toys, bottle and pacifier to it. So when she dropped it, it never hit the ground. If she fell asleep, we just left her in it. We could leave her in it and use it as a high chair at restaurants. It has enough space in the bottom to keep a diaper bag for the day. We carried enough formula and snacks for the entire trip. We purchase additional diapers in Europe. Be sure to get used to it before the trip. It has many straps to get comfortable during the day. It adjusted to both my wife's small torso and my longer one.

There are not child changing tables most places. We changed our baby on a changing pad on the floor. We quickly discovered that our daughter had to hold the baby's head because she might hit it on the floor. We could change before people even noticed.
Thanks for the hint/help. Where did you travel to? We are still trying to pinpoint places down.
Marie you say you "enjoy photography, scenery, hikes, old churches and castles and places off the beaten path."
I see you have been to Germany. Have you been to Bavaria? It is very scenic, many old abbeys and churches. The Alps are right on the south boundary and I am sure there are many hiking opportunities. Well worth looking into. Let us know if it's of interest to you.
When our baby was 10 months, we went to the Lauterbrunnen Valley in Switzerland, Rome then Venice. Our second trip a year later, Rhine valley in Germany, Lauterbrunnen Valley in Switzerland, then Fussen for Neuschwanstein and ended up in Munich.
In Italy, babies are rock stars! In most of the restaurants we visited, the owners or someone else from the restaurant would come out and play with and feed our daughter. Many places cooked extra food for her to try for free. Most of the places we visited had lots of steps so we used the backpack.
